this was made for you
If you or your child has ever been prescribed or recommended a medical product, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll not only learn how to read a manufacturer insert, but also how to make an educated + empowered medical decision as a patient or parent.
What is informed consent?
Concerning medical products, informed consent is achieved when patients or parents receive all the information + ask questions about recommended treatments to make a well-considered decision about medical care. Here’s how it works:
The Informed Consent Process
1) Medical professional provides information + recommends a medical product.
2) Patient or Parent asks questions, researches the product, and asks follow-up questions.
3) After the medical professional has answered all initial questions, the patient or parent makes one of the following decisions:
Patient or Parent accepts the recommended medical product, stays alert to any potential adverse reactions, and continually communicates any changes to medical professional.
Patient or Parent may accept the medical product in the future, however would like to gather more observations about condition or research the product more prior to accepting.
Patient or Parent declines the recommended medical product + searches for other options either with the current medical professional or a new one.

What is Just the Inserts?
Created in late 2020, Just the Inserts began as an Instagram account to meet the need of patients + parents looking for .gov information about pharmaceutical products. Thankfully, justtheinserts.com was developed prior to Instagram deleting the Just the Inserts profile in Sep 2021. Eight months after being silenced by Instagram, Just the Inserts was able to rejoin Instagram.
Just the Inserts is founded + operated by one individual living in the United States. Click below to read more!
