As previously stated, erectile dysfunction (ED) can be caused by many different issues. An in-person healthcare appointment should be your first step to identify if there are any potentially serious issues with blood getting to the penis. Additionally, below are some options to research + discuss with your healthcare provider.
In anticipation of failure:
Physical symptoms may include: penis remains cold and small, possible premature ejaculation if erection does occur, and great desire for sweet foods.
Psychological symptoms may include: high sex drive but lack of self-confidence and expectation of failure to achieve or sustain an erection.
If symptoms are better from loosening clothing, warm drinks, and after urinating while symptoms are worse from being in a hot room or overeating, then research Lycopodium 30c twice daily up to 5 days.1
erectile dysfunction caused by bruising:
Physical symptoms may include: bruised penis as a result of injury, feels sore/tender to the touch, and possible premature ejaculation if erection does occur.
Psychological symptoms may include: desire to be left alone, denial there’s a problem, refusal to get medical help, or fear of being touched.
If symptoms are better from bathing in cold water or adopting a sexual position that avoids putting pressure on the bruised area while symptoms are worse if penis is touched or sexual excesses, then research Arnica 30c twice daily for up to 5 days.1
nutritional considerations
Smoking and fatty foods can lead to the production of plaques that clog arteries which block the flow of blood to the genitals.2 Many medications also list erectile dysfunction as a known adverse reaction. Research the importance of the following nutrients that you might be lacking and causing ED: essential fatty acid complex (aids in formation of sperm and seminal fluid in the prostate gland), iodine/kelp (necessary for development of reproductive organs), vitamin c (helps boost testosterone), vitamin e (increases circulation), zinc (aids prostate gland function and reproductive organ growth).
Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet (look at pumpkin seeds, bee pollen, pomegranate juice) and avoiding alcohol especially before intercourse, may help. Also, if possible psychological factors are contributing, a qualified therapist may help any repressed anger or fear of intimacy.2
If you consume products with heavy metals, investigate the possibility of heavy metal intoxication. A hair mineral analysis might be helpful.
